On Wednesday the 20 of March, the International Bach Competitions jury for 2013 in Würzburg chose Daniël van der Hoeven as the winner of the 8 edition of the competition.
The competition began on the 11th of March with 55 contestants. On the 16th of March the second round began with 28 contestants, and on the 19th and 20th of March there were 7 contestants remaining in the finals. Although no first prize was given, Daniël was awarded the second and hence highest prize.
All of the contestants in this concours, where only works by Bach were performed, had prepared 90 to 100 minutes of music. What a pleasure to work with so much fantastic music!
